Style of speaking: Eric tends to be a bit shy and uncertain in the way he speaks. He's hesitant and tends to shy away from socialisation outside of a professional setting. He's always been a quiet person, however since the death of his last girlfriend, for which people in his home town still blame him, he has become more anxious in his interactions with others.

Childhood: When Eric was 6, his parents divorced, and his mother was awarded full custody. His father occasionally came to visit. He was somewhat aware that the reason for their split was his mother's infidelity. He was 9 when his mother remarried, marrying the man she'd cheated on her husband with, at which point Eric gained a younger step-brother. He met Theresa at school and became good friends with her. At age 11, Eric started  taking singing lessons at school.
Teen years: Eric attended the same secondary school as Theresa, Alfie-J and Jim. The four formed a  student band for school talent competitions, however, before Jim joined their school (as he was younger than the others), they had a different drummer or two. They went through several changes of band name and arguments over what genre of music they should play, despite only ever viewing the band thing as a bit of fun. Eric instead had an interest in composing or editing music for films and TV. He started smoking at age 15. When his best friend moved away, the two stayed in close contact, and he became a strong source of support for her. At age 16, he started dating a girl named Julia-Jade, his first (and so far in his life his only) girlfriend.
Adult years: Eric attended a university at which he studied music, primarily looking at the production of. Despite living a while away from her, Eric and the boys tended to meet with Theresa when possible, sometimes half to hang out, other times to mess around and play music again. At some point, the four decided to enter a long term music competition, which may have been televised at later stages and may have set them down the road to becoming professional. At age 23, Eric had a daughter named Sydney. Shortly after Sydney's birth, Julia-Jade went missing. Eric was questioned over her disappearance, but he had no useful information. She turned up shortly after this, dead and mutilated. Again, Eric was suspected of having a hand in her disappearance and murder, but was innocent and had a strong alibi. The actual murderer was not found. Eric ultimately moved away from that area. After this, his band, Suicide Flies, went on their first tour and took part in a music festival and a battle of the bands in California.

Relationships

Parents: His step-father's name is Germain. Eric somewhat resents him for his relationship with his mother, especially since it began when Eric's parents were still together. His mother, Riley, is what he considers 'harsh but fair', and his relationship with her is neither poor nor especially close. He has seen little of his actual father, David, following his parents' split, but David has met Eric's daughter at the very least. It may be that after his ex's death, Eric moved in with his father rather than looking for a new house of his own, choosing to instead find a home at a later date when not grieving and more financially stable.
Siblings: A step-brother also named Eric. Other Eric is younger than him. No biological siblings.

Friends: Apart from his bandmates (Theresa Harwood, Alfie-J and Jim Chilman-Hay), Eric has few friends. Generally, he is the type to only want a few close friends and that's it.
