As Hien's original file is a bit of a mess of the original series and the next gen series he was originally created for, and as the version of him that exists in a series of semi-linked oneshots I'm writing (The Band Project, I have lots of ideas but have actually written very few, especially as I'm still designing characters) is a mix of both versions, I'm rewriting his file as just the version of Hien from The Band Project. Because this file was already pre-written as the old version, this is technically the first file released for The Band Project. Things to note: All the characters in bands in TBP are meant to be very young. The oldest characters are 30.
Because this is actually the second file redo (I'm also doing a second file for Ingemar Hedley) following creation of a new version of the same character for a different fandom, I may make separate files for each fandom for any character in multiple fandoms from now on.

Typical clothing: Hien likes to dress for comfort whenever possible, including the softest jumpers he can find and jogging bottoms 99.9% of the time. On stage, he has a set outfit consisting of a leather jacket, long at the back where it is shaped to a sharp-looking point, a plain undershirt of any colour, black trousers, sometimes leather, sometimes not, and black boots. His nose stud and earring are often connected by a chain during stage shows. The nose stud is usually a scorpion shape/theme.
Is seen by others as: To those who know him personally, Hien is seen as a very sweet and friendly person with a good sense of humour and who is fun to be with despite his anxieties, though of course he is often also seen as someone who is very nervous and jumpy. To those who know him purely as a performer, Hien is seen as a rather rough, wild and unfriendly Goth-punk type.

Childhood: Hien was the youngest of five born to his father (four to his mother) and the only son. From a young age, he had a strong interest in music and writing. He was diagnosed with OI 1 at a young age and tended to be anxious and reluctant to join in certain games out of fear of breaking something and getting hurt, and essentially had always been an anxious child. In elementary school, Hien befriended Tony Chun and the two tended to get bullied quite badly by their peers. In this reality, Hien's father died when he was 10 as a result of complications of a heart defect.
Teen years: By the time Hien hit his teen years, his elder siblings had moved out of the house. Hien continued strongly with his interest in music and writing, including writing songs, and was gifted with a guitar on his 13th birthday. He and his friend were still bullied at school, but they also made a new friend at middle school named Bella. Hien later met Tremayne Morden-O'Callaghary while practicing his guitar where the other could hear, at his uncle's house with the window open. Tremayne essentially butted in out of nowhere and, upon realising Hien lacked confidence, decided to try and help him with his confidence. He also introduced him to Chester McCain, and Hien in turn introduced those two to Tony and Bella. As all five could play instruments, they decided to try and learn some of the songs Hien and Tremayne had written. After playing at venues open to the general public to perform and were talent spotted by a professional musical agent. They named their band Dark Pulse after playing around with some other names. Each band member took on a stage name and built a physical appearance around this, with Hien's being 'The Scorpion'. At some point after becoming a professional musician, Hien met Sally Davies and the two began dating.
Adult years: Dark Pulse became a successful band. The band went on a brief hiatus the year Hien turned 24 following the births of Burt Chun, Louie Morden-O'Callaghary, Lindsey Morden-O'Callaghary and Bambi Hart-Williams, but reformed after he turned 25 for the festival and battle of the bands that becomes the centre point of the story collection The Band Project. They have the significant advantage that these take place in their home state.

History of family: Hien's father was born in Vietnam but is himself mixed race, and moved to the US in his teen years, and from his paternal grandfather's family, Hien has a strong military lineage. Hien is 3/4 White American.
Relationships
Parents: Tavis and Kitten Hart-Williams (still based strongly off their Teen Titans counterparts). His relationship with both of them was close.
Siblings: Hien has a half-sister named Hannah and three older sisters named Anh, Carah and Lyra. He's never actually lived in the same house as Hannah, as by the time he was born Hannah was already engaged and in her 20's. His other sisters tended to baby him, as he's 10 years younger than Carah and Lyra, and 14 years younger than Anh. He is fond of all his sisters.
Any enemies (and why): His school bullies are the only ones known. The only ones ever named are Debbie Mortuguay and Shannon Jackson, who were also his worst bullies.
