Childhood: Arnie's parents worked a lot when he was young, meaning he spent most weekdays before he started school in daycares and with child minders. In infant school, he met Marty Bruederl and the two became best friends. From a young age, his parents encouraged him to take extracurricular classes and had him take guitar lessons at school. Though he didn't get on with his guitar teacher, he did enjoy the idea of playing an instrument in general. Arnie was bullied during his early childhood as he was considered rather strange, and Marty often protected him from bullies. In year 5, Arnie's best friend moved away and they lost touch after a year or so.
Teen years: Arnie attended the same secondary school as Nevii Bowen. Nevii, liking Arnie's eccentric and excitable nature, immediately tried to befriend him. Arnie, happy to be part of a fairly popular group, easily slotted into Nevii's little gang, and was quickly introduced to Piggy and Ronnie. When he was around 15 or 16 years old, Marty moved to his school and his form class. Though Marty's personality had changed drastically, Arnie was determined to keep his old best friend as a best friend, though Marty's unkind nature drove a lot of his other friends away. Arnie struggled a lot with exams and decided to go into full-time employment rather than to university.
Adult years: Arnie stayed in close contact with Marty and his 'sister', Leah, and often treated the two like an extension of his own family. He was contacted by Nevii at some point and offered a place in a potential band. It was Arnie who came up with the 'Ham Sushi' name. Arnie asked Marty to help out with certain aspects of the band, which helped secure their future as a successful music group.

Relationships

Parents: Javier and Adorlee du Jardin were both born and raised in France, and moved to England for unknown reasons shortly before their first child was born. Arnie's relationship with them is normal, but he definitely likes how welcoming and kind his parents are towards his friends.
Siblings: Margaux, Ferragus, Amorette, Laetitia and Patrice. His three elder siblings tended to bully him when he was little, but as he grew older, Arnie was able to form a strong friendship with his brother.
Any enemies (and why): None. He did get bullied in his childhood though, and heavily dislikes his GCSE French teacher.

Friends: As well as the other members of Ham Sushi, Arnie has two close friends from secondary school, although these two friends notably dislike Marty. They are called Audric Kelly and Judd Club. (Currently in the oneshot that mentions them, they have placeholder names Jem and Otis.)
